J&L Customs is a custom knife shop run by a husband and wife couple. Jonathan and Lindsey started their knife journey Christmas of 2021. They had been collecting knives for a few years and had a few conversations about making their own during that time. For Christmas, Lindsey set Jonathan up with one of their friends, 1SG Schwartz, for a knife making lesson. After a couple days learning and making the “first five” Jonathan was hooked! The following months saw equipment flowing in and hours and hours spent learning and developing the craft. Jonathan got lucky and was placed with platoon sergeant, SFC LeValley who was on forged in fire season 9. If they weren’t busy working (and usually even if they were) they were talking knives and ideas. LeValley taught Jonathan new things all the time and even showed him how to forge Damascus. During all that time, Jonathan showed Lindsey and she grew talented in her own right, taking a special interest in handles. With Jonathan being active duty Army and Lindsey working as a law enforcement officer, they understand what hard use means and make their tools with that in mind.
