The back is a pry bar. Whether you need to pop a glove box in a search or wedge it into a car door to get access after an accident, it’s meant to take the abuse.
Serrations are on every sheepdog we make. Sometimes an officer needs to cut a seatbelt or airbag after an accident, others they might to cut rope or cordage to clear debris. Blades are great but keeping them perfectly sharp isn’t always feasible with the demands of the job and serrations will far outlast the edge on the blade.
The point where the handle ends is curved up for a thumb rest to give more control, it is also ground to an angle to it can be used as a flathead screwdriver in a pinch.
The point of the knife is also shaped for utility. It is more rounded to give it more strength and durability. The purpose isn’t for stabbing it is for hard use. Sometimes you need leverage in a tight space and can’t have the tip breaking.
